Why We Support ZinMai Experiences
In 2025, EXO Foundation chose to support ZinMai Experiences for its inspiring and deeply human work empowering Burmese migrants in Chiang Mai. Many of these individuals have crossed borders in search of safety, stability, and a chance to rebuild their lives. ZinMai provides them with more than just jobs, it offers skills training, fair employment, and meaningful opportunities to regain confidence, independence, and hope for the future
For EXO Foundation, this partnership represents the heart of what sustainable tourism stands for: creating livelihoods that uplift people, strengthen communities, and bridge cultures. By supporting ZinMai Experiences, we aim to demonstrate that tourism can be a powerful driver of inclusion and social change, not only reducing harm but actively fostering dignity and opportunity across borders.
Thai Responsible Tourism Association (TRTA)

The Thai Responsible Tourism Association (TRTA) is a national network of tourism stakeholders committed to promoting responsible, inclusive, and sustainable tourism in Thailand. Established by professionals from six tourism sectors—including tour operators, accommodation providers, licensed guides, local communities, restaurants, and academics—TRTA works to ensure that tourism development benefits society, culture, the economy, and the environment.
ZinMai Experiences operates under Tour Merng Tai, a tour company that is a core member of TRTA. Through this relationship, TRTA serves as a supportive partner, providing guidance, responsible tourism frameworks, and industry credibility. TRTA’s support helps ensure that ZinMai Experiences aligns with ethical tourism practices, fair community partnerships, and inclusive storytelling that respects both host and migrant communities.
Together, TRTA, Tour Merng Tai, and ZinMai Experiences demonstrate how responsible tourism can foster cultural understanding, support livelihoods, and contribute to a more sustainable and inclusive tourism future in Northern Thailand.
As a small family foundation committed to improving opportunities for vulnerable people around the globe, we value projects in Myanmar and beyond that uplift people and communities through skills, identity and participation. We therefore support the “ZinMai Experiences,” as it offers Burmese migrants in Chiang Mai the chance to build sustainable livelihoods and share their cultural heritage through responsible tourism. This initiative brings people together, strengthens confidence and creates real prospects for Burmese families seeking for stability. We are proud to contribute to a future where hopefully displaced communities can shape their own paths with confidence and opportunity.

GATE – Netzwerk, Tourismus, Kultur e.V.

GATE – Netzwerk, Tourismus, Kultur e.V., a Germany-based NGO, is committed to promoting socially and environmentally responsible travel. Drawing on ethnological perspectives, we work to foster clearer and more meaningful communication between travellers and the communities they visit. For this reason, we are pleased to support ZinMai Experiences, as we share the same core values. We firmly believe that ZinMai Experiences—through its focus on the shared history and cultural exchange between Myanmar and Northern Thailand—can make a significant contribution to mutual understanding and meaningful learning experiences among Myanmar migrants, Thai citizens, and international visitors.
